Wade in the Rain Records was founded by Wade Larsen in 1992 to help people discover the diversity of the Northwest sound. "There are such rich veins of musical talent in the Northwest, and many of these songwriters need to be heard," says Larsen. "I wa nted to provide more publishing opportunities for deserving songwriters and musicians."

Wade in the Rain Records guides the production, packaging and marketing processes in order to protect the artistic vision of the label's participating songwriters. Wade Larsen's deep respect for artistic freedom is based on his experiences as a songwrit er and recording artist. His desire to be free to write and produce music in a personally meaningful way inspired the creation of Wade in the Rain Records.

"Music, in a way, is sacred to me," explains Larsen. "I intuitively know that I have to retain control over my own work, my own schedule, and my own business. To me, freedom equals creativity." By acknowledging this same desire for creative freedom in other songwriters, Larsen has created a label of artistic integrity and high quality, marketable product.

In 1994 Wade in the Rain released the award-winning CD compilation, a seamless connection, which features an hour of original music from twelve Northwest songwriters whose work focuses on a variety of different genres including folk, reggae, rock, pop, c ountry and blues. a seamless connection is bound together thematically by lyrics speaking of personal healing and change. "The music of a seamless connection is essentially about hope and the healing of connections within ourselves, between each another and between people and the earth," comments executive producer Wade Larsen.
