Presidents Report: Karen F. presented review of the work of the last year, including booking opportunities, museum of radio, gig club, music biz workshop, community grants, exploration of 501c3 status.
BIMA currently over 100 members.

Presentation by Deb Slater from the Mount Baker Theater on the Local Artist Performance Network for the Studio Theater. Great new venue, all ages, looking for
local performers to perform. $5-7 tickets. No artist expenditure, costs about $500. after which $ are a back-end split.
6 pm sound check, 7:30 shows. Looking to do 3-4 shows a month. Requesting
demo/press kits.

BIMA mission statement; proposed amendment to bylaws.
Previous mission statement was read:
"The Bellingham Independent Music Association is an educational charity association of independent musicians and music supporters, in collaborative effort to promote local art in the community."
New proposed Mission statement was read:
"BIMA is an association of independent musicians and music supporters working together to enrich and educate our community, by promoting local music of all genres, and providing musicians with professional
development opportunities."
Jen: motion to approve revision to bylaws. Mark 2nd.

Volunteer Team building: Cards distributed for people to write down their interests as ongoing volunteer opportunities presented:
- BIMA Beat Needs editor
- Dues reminder person. 2 hours a month. (easy with computer)
- Gig club, Next meeting biz related at Seventh Heaven Studios Sept. 24 within David
Neveu and Chris Knab
Cost to be determined. Limit of 25 people. Informal meetings currently suspended for summer. Need help postering and on committee.
- KMRE - announcement: Local low freq. FM radio station accepting CDs for possible airplay. Drop off at Museum of Radio and Electricity on Bay St. Show produced by Gary DePiro, hosted by Marcia Guderian. Sunday nights 8-9 pm. Marcia introduced the upcoming songwriters showcase at the Bay St. Village, beginning May 16th Mondays, 8-10 pm. Need setup and postering help, as well as performers.
- Compilation CD presentation by Scott Peterson. CD is in the works. Simple project envisioned. CD-R with printed label. Variety of Genres. Open to volunteer energy.
- CD distribution - Currently Co-op, Everybody's Store and Holiday sales. Looking to grow. Interested in booths at festivals.
Need info on which festivals musicians are playing, and getting volunteers to attend BIMA booths (CD sales) at festivals. Lots of fun.
- Hilary and Scott have prepared a PowerPoint presentation for local event planners on the ins and outs of getting music for their events. Looking for knowledgeable people to do presentations.
- Publicity and Marketing call for additional volunteers. Marketing meeting has work in progress in developing a consistent look.

Continuing Terms: Karen FitzGerald, Beth Marsau, Roderick Harris, Casey Curtis, Jacque Peterson, Scott Peterson.
Up for reelection: Diane Caron, Hilary Higgins.
New nominations: Gary DePiro, Tom Hodge.
Entire Slate was presented for election:
Motion for re-election and new nominations to be voted in as Board members by Beth
Marsau. Mark 2nd. Motion passed by all.
