BIMA is proud to announce a new partnership and affiliation with a national songwriters and composers organization called Songsalive! Songsalive! is a non-profit organization dedicated to the nurturing, support and promotion of songwriters and composers worldwide. Founded in 1997 by Gilli Moon Aliotti and Roxanne Kiely, in Sydney Australia, Songsalive! is run by songwriters for songwriters and now has over 18 chapter cities around the world. It acts as an epicenter, a heart of the international songwriting community and music markets, bridging the gaps, tapping songwriters into the pulse of the business and at the same time giving them and their music the support they deserve . As part of this affiliation, BIMA has started a local BIMA/Songsalive! Showcase to be held every 4th Wednesday of the month at the Wild Buffalo. Members of both organizations are invited to sign up to perform at www.bima.com/events/openmic. Please visit the BIMA Beat page for up to date information on showcases and other BIMA/Songsalive! events. BIMA members may join Songsalive! for $30.00 general membership (instead of $50) or $80 (instead of $100) for elite membership. Benefits of being a member of Songsalive! include national performance opportunities, exposure through CD compilations and website podcasting, regular songwriting critique sessions, including input from music industry experts. To find out more about the benefits of becoming a Songsalive! member and to join Songsalive!, please visit www.songsalive.org. Songsalive! also has a Seattle chapter.
