Vern Carlson

Bellingham singer/songwriter Vern Carlson has been writing songs for many years about all aspects of our human emotions. Many of his life's experiences are also found in his writing. In 1997 he recorded his first CD of 14 original songs: There's Still A Light. The songs on this album deal with many aspects of life, including Vern's love for family, his farm, childhood memories, and faith in God.

There's Still A Light includes a song Vern wrote in June of 1994 on the day he visited the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. Entitled "A Granite Wall", Vern has had a chance to touch many lives with this piece, including two performances at the "Moving Wall" in August of 2000 and again in 2001..

Another song that has had a chance to touch many people is one called "Precious Children", which was written in 1987 on the day a beloved Sunday school teacher passed away. This song has now been performed at countless funerals over the years and has been a blessing in this special way to many, many people.
